Hinglaj Mata Mandir Balochistan News

Hinglaj Mata Mandir Balochistan News | May 16, 2025 : The Hinglaj Mata Temple in Balochistan, one of the most sacred sites for Hindus, has come into global spotlight following a historic announcement by the Baloch Army amid rising regional tensions between India and Pakistan.

In a recent post on social media platform X, Baloch leaders declared their commitment to rebuilding the Hinglaj Mata Temple in a grand manner. They also emphasized cultural and spiritual ties with India, stating:

“Our deities are the same. Hinglaj Mata is sacred to both Baloch and Indian people.”

This declaration follows a series of political developments where Baloch leaders openly sought support from India for their independence movement, claiming that Balochistan is not a part of Pakistan and should be recognized as a separate nation.

Hinglaj Mata Temple: A Historic Shakti Peeth

Located on the banks of the Hingol River in Hinglaj, Balochistan, the Hinglaj Mata Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas dedicated to Goddess Sati. It is revered by millions of Hindus across South Asia and locally known as Hingula Devi or Nani Mandir.

According to Hindu mythology, this is the spot where Goddess Sati’s head is believed to have fallen after Lord Vishnu cut her body into pieces to calm the mourning Lord Shiva.

Despite being in a Muslim-majority region, the temple has seen growing popularity in recent years, and is regarded as a symbol of interfaith heritage in Pakistan.

Political & Cultural Significance

The Baloch declaration to rebuild the temple is seen not just as a religious gesture, but also as a political statement – reinforcing Balochistan’s secular identity and cultural alignment with India and other democratic nations.

The statement comes just days after Mir Yaar Baloch announced Balochistan’s symbolic independence from Pakistan, calling on India and the UN for recognition.
