Quetta, Balochistan News – 15 May 2025 : The volatile security situation in Pakistan’s Balochistan province has taken another tragic turn. Four truck drivers transporting LPG from Iran were abducted and later found dead in Noshki district, according to government and police sources.
The incident reportedly occurred on the Quetta-Taftan highway, near the Ahmedwal area, where masked armed men intercepted the convoy, forcibly took the drivers, and disappeared with them. Their bodies were recovered days later in the Galangoor area of Noshki, around 100 kilometers from Quetta.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed the sequence of events and stated that the victims were transporting Iranian-imported LPG when they were targeted.
Police officials said the bodies were discovered after locals reported their presence in the area. The deceased were later identified as residents of Rahimyar Khan and Pakpattan, located in Punjab province.
Hospital sources revealed that the men were shot multiple times at close range, indicating a brutal execution-style killing.
While no group has claimed responsibility, the attack resembles previous incidents where non-local workers have been targeted. In recent months, Balochistan has seen several similar killings:
In February, militants stopped a bus on Barkhan highway, selected passengers from Punjab, and executed them.
In March, four laborers were killed in Kalat.
In October last year, 20 mine workers were massacred in Duki, some of whom were from Afghanistan.
These recurring incidents have raised serious concerns about the safety of inter-provincial workers and the growing instability in the region.
