Balochistan News Today : The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has issued a powerful statement condemning the ongoing wave of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan, describing them as a calculated and systematic policy of state-led Baloch genocide.
In a public statement shared via social media, BYC asserts that these atrocities are not isolated incidents but part of a deeply rooted state agenda aimed at annihilating the Baloch nation. The Committee states that enforced disappearances serve as a brutal instrument of this policy, inflicting immense psychological and emotional trauma not just on the disappeared but on their families and communities.
Over the past two months, BYC reports a sharp increase in incidents where forcibly disappeared individuals were later found dead, allegedly killed in staged encounters. This alarming trend has escalated fear and grief throughout Baloch society. Families are devastated as the bodies of their loved ones are returned with fabricated narratives of “encounters.”
Despite ongoing protests, legal appeals, and public demands for justice, the state has responded with more repression, intensifying its crackdown on civil resistance. The BYC also condemned the arrests and targeting of its leadership, calling these acts an extension of the same violent state policy.
In response, the BYC has announced the launch of a province-wide protest movement starting 15 May 2025. The Committee has urged the Baloch public to participate in large numbers, document cases of disappearances and fake encounters, and raise their voices against this systematic oppression.
“The arrest and detention of BYC leadership will not silence this movement,” the statement read. “This is a struggle against tyranny, and every conscious Baloch has pledged to continue it until the state abandons its genocidal policies.”
The Committee calls upon all Baloch citizens to show unity and resilience and take part in the upcoming demonstrations across Balochistan to oppose state violence and demand accountability.
