Baloch Rebels India Support Operation Sindoor

Baloch Freedom Groups Look to India After Operation Sindoor

In the aftermath of India’s recent military success in Operation Sindoor, various Baloch nationalist groups have expressed hope for international and diplomatic support, particularly from India. This sentiment marks a significant moment in the ongoing struggle for Baloch self-determination, especially amid Pakistan’s growing internal instability.

Leaders of the Baloch movement, including those from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), view India as a strong geopolitical counterbalance to Pakistan. The groups have appealed for support, not just militarily, but diplomatically — to raise awareness about decades of human rights violations in Balochistan, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and suppression of dissent.

A prominent Baloch representative reportedly stated that “Pakistan is in no position to counter the Baloch struggle now,” highlighting the impact of India’s regional influence.

With Pakistan struggling under political chaos, economic collapse, and mounting threats from extremist groups such as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), the Baloch insurgency claims to have gained ground. Fighters say they have intensified their operations, including targeted attacks on military outposts, infrastructure, and strategic assets linked to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Reports also indicate that Baloch resistance groups carried out over 70 coordinated attacks across Balochistan in May 2025 alone. These attacks focused on obstructing military convoys, destroying key routes, and disrupting Chinese-backed development projects.

One fighter from the BLA said, “We are fighting for our land that has been sold to China by the Pakistani military and political elite.”

The Baloch freedom movement continues to call upon the global human rights community and major international players like India and the United States to intervene — diplomatically, if not materially — to ensure justice and autonomy for the people of Balochistan.
