Baloch Genocide Kill And Dump Policy

Baloch Today News : In a powerful public statement, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has condemned what it describes as a sustained campaign of violence and annihilation against the Baloch people, carried out under the guise of state policy in Pakistan. The committee claims that enforced disappearances, custodial torture, and the public dumping of mutilated bodies have become disturbingly common in Balochistan — a region that has long suffered from political suppression and human rights violations.

According to BYC, the origins of this violent campaign trace back to 2009, when three prominent Baloch leaders — Waja Ghulam Mohammad, Sher Mohammad, and Lala Munir — were abducted and extrajudicially killed. Their deaths marked the beginning of what is now referred to as the “kill and dump” policy — a systematic approach where dissenting voices are abducted, tortured, executed in custody, and their bodies abandoned in remote areas as warnings.

Over time, this method of silencing opposition has evolved. Between 2020 and 2021, BYC notes that the Pakistani state introduced a new tactic under the framework of law enforcement: labeling extrajudicial executions as “encounters” led by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Victims were rebranded as terrorists, and illegal killings were framed as legal operations. While the language shifted, the violence remained unchanged.

Recent deaths, such as that of Tariq Baloch — a popular car racer who was abducted and later found dead — and Sameer Sabzal from Panjgur, are being cited as renewed examples of this brutal strategy. BYC argues that these incidents are not isolated but are part of a broader policy aimed at the erasure of Baloch identity and resistance.

The committee’s statement characterizes the state’s actions as violations of international human rights law, including breaches of the Geneva Conventions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It accuses the international community of silence and inaction, even as evidence of targeted killings continues to mount.

Despite the threats, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee remains committed to resistance. “We vow to document every name, every body, every grave,” their statement reads. “We vow to resist, with our voices, our mothers’ tears, and our people’s truth.”
