BYC Verdict Delay Protest Balochistan

Quetta | May 16, 2025 — (Balochistan News Today) : The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned the continued judicial delay in announcing the verdict for the detained Baloch leaders, warning of escalating public resistance if justice is further delayed.

In a statement shared via their official X (Twitter) account, BYC alleged that a “deliberate strategy of delay” is being used by the two-judge bench of the Balochistan High Court and the provincial government to prolong the illegal detention of its leaders, including:

Dr. Mahrang Baloch (BYC Chairperson)
Sibghatullah Shah Ji
Bibagar Baloch
Gulzadi Baloch
Bebo Baloch
Mama Ghafar Baloch

“Despite the lack of evidence or strong legal arguments from state prosecutors, the bench has failed to deliver a verdict even three days after reserving it,” the statement said.

Protest Movement Intensifies

BYC launched a fresh protest campaign on May 15, asserting that if these “tactics of delay” continue, the resistance will intensify. The group reiterated that they are committed to a peaceful yet sustained movement against state repression and unlawful imprisonment of political leaders in Balochistan.

“This is not a complex case. Every lawyer knows that the state has failed to justify the detentions under 3-MPO,” the committee added, calling it a serious violation of due legal process.
